Hal Roesch II

20-year Air Force Veteran, Past VFW Commander-in-Chief (2020-2021), Nonprofit Management professional

Hal serves as Executive Director of the VFW Foundation, leading efforts to secure and steward resources that support the programs and services of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. A U.S. Air Force veteran with 20 years of service, he earned VFW eligibility during Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm and has been a VFW member since 1991. As VFW Commander-in-Chief from 2020 to 2021, Hal championed initiatives that strengthened support for veterans and military families nationwide. Combining decades of military service, veteran advocacy, and nonprofit leadership, he works to expand awareness, engagement, and support for the Foundation's mission.

More than 35 years of professional experience and extensive expertise spanning nearly every facet of nonprofit fundraising and management

As the VFW Foundation's Sr. Director of Operations, Richard provides fundraising and donor engagement guidance to VFW Posts nationwide while overseeing major gifts, planned giving, in-kind donations, and numerous internal operational functions. Richard earned a Bachelor of Arts in Industrial Relations and Political Science from Rockhurst University, graduating summa cum laude.

Air Force veteran dedicated to serving those who served — and the families who stand beside them

Tony leads the corporate relations team for the VFW Foundation, working with supporters and allies who share the VFW's commitment to veterans, service members, and military families. A retired Air Force Chief Master Sergeant, he brings decades of leadership, nonprofit, and veteran advocacy experience, including prior service with the VFW Washington Office. His commitment to the mission is personal — Tony earned his VFW eligibility through service in Iraq and Afghanistan and continues to serve as Senior Vice Commander of Brigadier General Charles E. McGee VFW Post 341 in Washington, D.C. Outside of work, he enjoys golf and occasionally finding his ball exactly where he did not intend to hit it.

Chris serves as a Corporate Accounts Manager for the VFW Foundation, building relationships with organizations whose philanthropic goals align with the Foundation's mission to support veterans and their families. A U.S. Army veteran with ten years of service and four deployments, he brings firsthand military experience and a strong commitment to veteran advocacy. Chris holds a bachelor's degree in Business Management from Troy University and a master's degree in Human Resources from Capella University. His background in leadership, relationship management, and strategic engagement helps strengthen support for programs that serve the veteran community.

Over a decade with the VFW Foundation, dedicated to accuracy and careful management of supporting funds

Renee serves as a Donation Specialist for the VFW Foundation, supporting donation processing, donor stewardship, matching gift administration, reporting, and record management. With more than 20 years of nonprofit experience and over a decade with the Foundation, she brings expertise in fund development, donor relations, grant administration, event support, and database management. Renee holds a Bachelor of Science in Technical Management from DeVry University and an Associate of Applied Science in Computer Science/Information Systems from Metropolitan Community College. Her attention to detail and commitment to donor stewardship help ensure resources are effectively managed in support of the Foundation's mission.

Becky joined the VFW Foundation in 1999 and has been a part of its growth from a two-person organization to a nationally recognized nonprofit supporting veterans, service members, and their families. As Senior Program Coordinator, she manages charitable campaign applications, coordinates Board of Directors meetings, prepares board materials, and supports grant administration and financial processes. Her extensive knowledge of Foundation operations and commitment to service help ensure the organization runs efficiently and effectively.

Nonprofit professional and military child, dedicated to advancing support for veterans and their families

Savanna manages corporate relationships for the Foundation, working with supporters that share the VFW's commitment to veterans and military families. She holds a bachelor's degree in Sports Management from the University of Kansas and an MBA with a concentration in Marketing from Emporia State University. Her commitment to the mission is personal — she comes from a large family of military service members, including both her mother and father.

U.S. Army Veteran with more than a decade of experience as a nonprofit professional

Jason serves as Grants Manager for the VFW Foundation, developing grant proposals and stewarding philanthropic and corporate support that sustains programs serving veterans, service members, and their families. A U.S. Army veteran who served as a 19D cavalry scout and volunteered to deploy in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, he brings firsthand knowledge of military service and transition to his work. He combines that experience with expertise in grant writing, research, and relationship management to help ensure Foundation initiatives deliver measurable impact.

Rafaela serves as a Corporate Relations Manager for the VFW Foundation, bringing over 20 years of experience in nonprofit leadership, fundraising, and corporate engagement. Prior to joining the Foundation, she held leadership roles with national nonprofit organizations, overseeing corporate partnerships, grants, and philanthropic initiatives that advanced organizational impact. Her experience helping organizations build meaningful support networks strengthens the Foundation's ability to serve veterans, service members, and their families. Rafaela holds a BS in Business Management and MS in Elementary Education from Hampton University and an Executive Leadership Program Certificate from The John F. Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University.

Her background in business development, community engagement, and partnership strategy has equipped her to create impactful collaborations that advance the Foundation's mission. Through sponsorship development, event programming, and strategic engagement, she helps connect organizations with opportunities to make a meaningful difference in the veteran community.
